EFT certification process
From the beginning of your professional journey, whether you want to become a certified EFT therapist, supervisor or trainer, our support team and experienced supervisors will guide you step-by-step to help you successfully move towards your certification.
EFT-certification process of persons recognized by ISEFT
A certified EFT therapist is someone who has completed various levels of certifications such as basic training, supervised practice and thus his expertise in this therapy model by the International Therapy Association Focused on Emotions (ISEFT) is recognized. The primary goals of certification are to promote excellence in the practice of EFT and to ensure that these standards are maintained in the supervision and training of this approach. The ISEFT Board (International Society for Emotion-Focused Therapy) has established minimum standards for training programs.

There are 5 levels of detection and also the possibility of issuing certificates.

Level A: Completion of basic EFT training
Participants must have a minimum of prior training: they must have professional training in some type of treatment and be a certified practitioner.
Basic training/workshop experience (=levels 1 and 2): at least 8 days, by certified trainers or EFT certified,
Preliminary supervision experience:
(a) At least 3 days of group supervision (providing at least one client for 1 hour). or
(b) five hours of individual supervision of your work with at least 2 clients.
Level B: Completion of supervised EFT practice
Trainees who have completed this level of training are listed on the training program website and on the ISEFT website as having completed the EFT supervised practice requirements. Completion of supervised practice does not guarantee competency.
Completion of EFT Preliminary Training [Level A]
Direct personal supervision of your own work (review of session recordings): minimum 16 hours, with at least 2 clients, in group format or Individual
Recommended Practice: Refer at least two individual clients for a minimum of 60 EFT sessions including empathy, deepening, tasks, and case formulation.
Level C: Certified EFT Therapist
EFT Level B: Completion of EFT Supervised Practice
EFT Therapist Skills Assessment
Certification confirms the fact that a therapist
Level D: Superintendent
Local programs will approve observers. ISEFT lists supervisors on its website.
Level C: Certified EFT Therapist
Previous accreditation as supervisor; or monitoring supervision; or one or more rounds as an Assistant Instructor (facilitator for skill practice) for Level A (EFT 1 or 2)
Accreditation/verification by an approved EFT instructor at their discretion
Level E: Instructor
Anyone wishing to become an instructor or an institute-based instructor must apply through training to a board member most familiar with them to recommend for ISEFT board approval. The ISEFT Board certifies trainers.
The following criteria are for becoming a trainer:
Level D: EFT Certified Supervisor
Recommendation of a certified EFT trainer based on their judgment based on supervision (planning, review and/or or observation) at least two different half-day EFT training modules
Attend at least three days of a discussion-based instructor/coach workshop. or equivalent supervision or consultation in education.
